Children can join Star-Struck from the age of five. We do not run pre-school classes, and we would rather say so than take a fee for a three-year-old who will not get much from it.

After-school clubs, inside the school gates
For primary-age children the simplest option is often not a studio at all. We run drama, dance and musical theatre clubs inside four Solihull-borough primary schools, which means your child walks from their classroom to the club and you collect at the end rather than doing a school run in the middle of the afternoon.
Those clubs are open to children at the school in question, run in KS1 and KS2 groups, and follow the school's own term dates. They are listed with the rest of the timetable further down this page.
What you need to sort out, and what you don't
You do not need uniform, shoes, exam entries or any equipment to start. A taster session needs comfortable clothes and nothing else. Uniform comes later, once a child has settled and you know they are staying.
You do need to tell us about anything that affects their safety — medical conditions, allergies, additional needs — which we hold on file and make available to the teacher taking the register. Every teacher is DBS-certified and first-aid trained.
Paying for it
Fees are charged per term rather than per week, which means the cost is predictable and does not change if your child misses a session for a school trip. Childcare vouchers and tax-free childcare are both accepted, and for families using them we will set the billing up around the scheme rather than the other way round.
If money is the thing standing in the way, say so when you enquire. We would rather have that conversation than lose a child who wants to dance.
Can parents watch?
Not usually during the class itself, which sounds unfriendly and is not meant to — five-year-olds perform for whoever is in the room, and a row of parents at the side turns a lesson into a show. What we do instead is watch-weeks, plus the annual show, where every single student performs regardless of how long they have been with us.
